I guess I’ve always been interested in adaptability. In taking whatever life hands you and running with it.

You can try and be invincible. In any situation you can try and believe that nothing can beat you. And this may be a useful mental strategy, but when unexpected shitty things occur, it may be more useful, realistic and greater for you to aim not to be invincible, but to be adaptable. To anything.
One of Tom Robbins’ stories is a about a girl who’s born with huge thumbs, so what’s she do? She makes the most of it and becomes the most badass hitchhiker there is. Another one (his first ever) is one of a cow who is stuck on an island with nothing to eat, so learns to get nutrients he needs from the sand.
Tom Robbins has seemingly seven hundred and eighty one thousand and four brilliant things to say on the subject of love, but here’s just a few:

We waste time looking for the perfect lover, instead of creating the perfect love.
Love is the ultimate outlaw. It just won’t adhere to any rules. The most any of us can do is to sign on as its accomplice. Instead of vowing to honor and obey, maybe we should swear to aid and abet. That would mean that security is out of the question. The words “make” and “stay” become inappropriate. My love for you has no strings attached. I love you for free.
