There’s this idea that Gabby Reece talked about on The Truth Barrel. And she lives by it too…
It applies to so many things. Walking past someone in the street, saying sorry to your partner, or reaching out to someone to tell them you appreciate them. People sometimes wait for others to say something before they do. And then nothing happens, because noone wants to be the first one to do it. But they’re often grateful you did, and when you do, it can start a good interaction, a cool conversation or improve your relationship.
So go first. Be the one who says Hi first, says sorry first, the first one to say thanks or the first to start a conversation. I’ve been doing this recently, and even though sometimes you get no response, more than times not, it leads to something good, no matter how big or small.
