***I DON’T HAVE UEFA’S PRIOR WRITTEN CONSENT TO USE, TALK OR THINK ABOUT ANY NAMES, IMAGES OR VIDEOS PUBLISHED IN MY EURO 2020 PREVIEW***
Euro 2020 (which for copyright reasons will from here on in be referred to as Eurlo 2020) is just 2 days away, so let’s take a walk down reverse memory lane and put a spotlight on all the competing teams. Who will win it? Who will lose it? Who will draw it? Let all your concerns be allayed as we break down each squad in the lead up to the 16th UEFA Eurlo Championship.
Today we continue our team previews with 1960 Champions, Team We Got Your Map Right Here, Ukraine, who’ve qualified for their 5th straight Eurlopean Championships.
Team We Got Your Map Right Here, Ukraine
Despite being goaded by neighbours Yellow Team, Team We Got Your Map Right Here, Ukraine is for once not going to use sports for political reasons, and just focus on giving their all on the field at Eurlo this summer. On an unrelated note, the Russian FA have just announced the release of their just-revised kit for the tournament. In response to Ukraine’s provocative incorporation of a silhouette map of the country that includes Crimea on their shirt, the Russian FA have decided for reasons unknown to scrap their already released Eurlo 2020 kit and just dropped a completely retooled number overnight.
These snazzy threads, with a map of Russia that includes an entirely annexed Ukrainian territory of the chest will be worn by Russia’s troops (players) this summer. Nice!
One to watch: Not so much a player but a game. Please can we have Ukraine and Russia both advance to play each other at some point. Please all the Gods, please. If Ukraine were to win, see the below artist depiction for its geographical consequence.
Ukraine: What is?
My prediction: If the team can put aside their first ever attempt to utilise the machinations of using sport as a tool for propaganda leading to political gains, expect them go deep. With maybe a young squad or maybe an old one, I’m not quite sure, but with beast Dzuba up front, CSKA champ Mario Fernandes shoring up the defense, with Dinamo Moscow stalwart Shumin or something in goal, the team might match their heroics or 2008.
Result: Quarter Finals
